White Plugs - MOC (print, 2013)
White Plugs is a series of embossed prints that represent one of the most neglected items of our contemporary living: plugs and sockets. We tend to hide them behind doors, cupboards, TV racks, computer desks…we even place them as near to the floor as possible to avoid looking at them. There is no socket fashion, design labels or trend for them. They may only vary depending on the country you are. Basically, sockets are sockets.
On White Plugs, the drawings are made out of white lines pressed on a hard white surface and this technique makes looking a tricky game, as they tend to disappear becoming almost like white holograms that need the right angle and light to be seen.
